26/2014

Repeating yesterday's composition but with afternoon light to see what would happen. I can't say the experiment was all that successful. For the most part I found the images to be drab. I like the snow drops on the camera though, that was an unexpected bonus.

I could definitely have used a reflector on my face because the original version my face is quite dark and not much contrast. I spruced the photo up in Photoshop with a saturation / hue adjustment set to "screen" blend. In the end, I kind of like how it turned out. But I'm still trying to understand light on location to get better shots in camera.
This high key effect perfectly fits and accentuates the cold.

@stimuloog Thanks! Those bokeh-looking balls on the left hand side are snowflakes that landed on the lens while I was snapping shots. Not the nicest thing to do to my camera, but it seems to have survived the exposure (pardon the pun!)

I love this composition and the snow flakes on the lens. The lines of this are gorgeous. Your arms and the lines of the tree really make the eye travel back to the focal point. It is a bit over saturated for my taste but that just my opinion and it doesn't count for much :)

Thanks for the feedback @jenteal ! I enjoyed playing with the low angle. There are such strong lines, thanks to the weird perspective shift. Your comment about saturation is noted. I was definitely going for super real with this image. Something to consider for next time is whether I need so much saturation to do that.

@mathilde22cat I hope you don't think I am picking on you. I really really enjoy your eye for things. I don't throw compliments like that around lightly.
