Getting in the mood for Crypticon!

Horror movie convention we go to each year with our son. This is the stove pipe coming out of the Old Home Place off a wood-burning stove. Rust and whatever else is staining it and the siding in it's immediate vicinity. Adjusted various color/exposure sliders until it looks like a scene from a slasher film (I didn't start out with that in mind but it's what came out.)
Horror movie convention!!! That's my kind of entertainment!

@sbolden Next weekend in Kansas City. Here's the website: http://www.crypticonkansascity.com/ Now you have no excuse to not go. See you there! It's not too far a drive from Maryland to KC, is it? :-)

I love this! And I also like the sound of the horror movie convention. I wish that had things like that here.

Actually kind of a neat shot - never would have thought of it as a horror shot!

oh, my goodness! this looks like some serial killer was busy or something!

hi, mary. i thought we had been partnered before on the get pushed. but i have done so many of it i honestly do not remember exactly who my partners had been. in any case, i have two challenges for you from which you may choose what to do (i'm pretty sure your camera will be able to accomodate either of these two challenges).

an abstract - take a photo of an object that is easily recognizable and process it using any of the free processing programs (unless you have photoshop) to make it look like an abstract to the point that it is no longer recognizable.

or

5-photo collage - mount your camera on a tripod or something firm and point it towards the street and take five shots at 5-minute intervals and make a collage of those shots in the order they were taken. or maybe go to a park or the front of a store, anywhere where there is constant activity. the camera should not be moved, it's just to record what happened in that five 5-minute intervals.

coloured or monochrome, it's up to you.

let me know if you have any questions.

@summerfield Yeah, I know the feeling. I looked back, though, and it doesn't look like we've been paired before. Probably seems like it because we've both been doing mad minute words together. I'm having trouble finding the time to go through your album. Out at the Old Home Place, there is no internet access. I was busy at work today doing work, so didn't get on the internet for personal stuff. The library is closing in 15 minutes and I have to end my session soon. Sigh... I PROMISE I will give you a challenge tomorrow -- MAYBE in the am. I'm going to my mom's to do laundry and spend time with my little niece who will be spending the day there. I might be able to sneak some time on Mom's computer. If not, then after work!
