The black and white works so well, the light tone of the skin against the darkness of the skirt. I like the connection between the mannequins and the figure in the foreground. Nice shot.
@dollycreek Thank you, Christine. I'm glad you like the shot. I liked the two-dimensional silhouette appearance of the mannequins in the far window behind a shade of some sort. The figure in the foreground fooled your eye, though. It's also a mannequin. You didn't notice the line up at the top where the hand is articulated with the rest of the arm. I never thought of that being ambiguous. I can see it now. Thanks!
I love this. I was just talking to Paula Moore Goff on Facebook about her 1950s dept. store photos she posted. These old stores just are so wonderful and haunting and full of history. I love your angle and comp! It has a sad "days gone by" feel to it.
I really like the unnatural vibe this gives. Your use of the silhouette of the armless mannequins juxtaposed with the lifeless looking hand in the foreground works great in b&w. Very gothic indeed.
