I'm posting this on the Monday slot that was still open. But I took these last night (Saturday 6/21). In response to the get pushed challenge given me by Lyn @lynnilou to take a minimalist picture, bursting with color, against a white background. I had posted something on the previous Sunday (a bit prematurely) and I wanted to try more. Getting a white background is harder than I thought. I bought a big piece of white foam board and set it up on a chair. I THINK I set the white balance for incandescent light and it was looking fairly white through the camera. But when I downloaded them they were this peachy color background. The best I could do to adjust gave me a bluish cast. Someone tell me...compact fluorescent (which is what was actually in the lamp and in most of our lighting fixtures these days) -- what kind of setting? There are three choices of fluorescent settings on my camera, but most of my interior shots seem to look the best just choosing incandescent. Ugh...I have so much to learn.
Ah well, these shots weren't very minimalist anyway. I think what I posted in the first place LAST Sunday, in the end was closer to what Lyn wanted.
