Red and Green...and by the way, Happy St. David's Day!

Happy Saint David's Day to all my 365 friends in Wales. This morning Frank and I listened to the gala St. David's Day concert in Cardiff, over BBC Radio Wales, via the internet. I regret that I haven't taken a Welsh-themed subject to post today, but here at least are Welsh colors.

Scott @scottmcc1 gave me the get pushed challenge of "use some kind of unusual filter, such as: bubble wrap, sun glasses, women's hose, bottom of a plastic bottle or something else you come up with." A shot of some of my colored glassware taken through a thick glass bottle.

Another shot (using a different "filter") of the same glassware here:

@scottmcc1 And more colored glass for your challenge. Thanks for pushing me to think about what can be used for a filter.

Are you Welsh? I'm just starting to learn the language (with my eldest who now goes to school).

@overalvandaan Saxa, I do have some Welsh ancestors back a ways on the family tree, along with a lot of German, Scottish, Irish, English and other ancestry. My fondness for, and interest in Wales is mainly a result, though, of the intense interest my husband Frank has in all the Celtic languages, music, cultures. He's quite knowledgeable on those topics. As a result we've been involved in the Welsh societies in Minnesota and Kansas, and sang in the North American Welsh Choir when it was active. In 2002 we went with the choir to Wales and I'd love to go back someday on our own. We're also members of the Greater Kansas City Cornish society, and in Minnesota Frank helped to start the Manx society. We've gone to the Scottish festivals in Minnesota and here in Kansas, and Frank used to be part of a group in Minneapolis that sang in all the Celtic languages, as well as in English. So there you have it. If I was rich, I'd be traveling to Ireland, Scotland, Wales, Cornwall etc As it is, the 2002 choir tour is the only time I've been out of the US except for a family trip to the Canadian Rocky Mountains when I was a kid. If I do get back to Wales, I'll look you up, but don't hold your breath. Good for you and your son for studying Welsh. I can sing in Welsh, but can't converse in it except for a few phrases.
