I was up in Wisconsin all last week, on my friends' land called SweetWood for our annual gathering around the 4th of July -- Freedom Festival. This is a belated response to the get pushed challenge given me by Maayke @maaayke to photograph something or someone very typical to where I was going. I didn't take as many photos as I wanted. We all were busy filling the spare time painting the interior walls of the bath house that's going up next to the shelter. But there were plenty of tents in the woods. This shows (you can glimpse through the vegetation anyway) my blue tent next to my friends' tan tent. So I guess that is typical of where I was going.
The photo itself is not much in the way of photography. I applied some processing in ribbet.com to try to art-ify the image. It is what it is.
It looks like a nice camping spot in the woods, you can't just put up a tent in the woods here in the Netherlands, it's pretty illegal, haha. So it's nice to see it you can do it there.
Well....this is my friends' land. They own it, so there are tent sites we have cleared etc. On state or federal land in the parks you have to get a camping permit for however long you want to stay. I really don't do much camping in a tent. Just once a year at this time on this land. It is a really beautiful spot, and the weather this year was perfect.
I'm looking forward to our annual Camp in a couple of weeks. I can't do tents anymore, due to disability, but a converted Ford Transit offers me years more out in the wild. I love the look of this land.
