The dinosaurs and I are posting this late. The 365 Toys' theme for LAST week was "Happiness." We've been having an exhausting, but very happy time the last six days. Our friend from Minneapolis and her daughter were here visiting at the very same time my sister from Ohio came with her daughter, son, and three grandsons. Together with my brother who lives here and his wife and daughter, and my mother, the combined group on Friday went from the zoo to lunch to swimming and then we had ice cream (ruining our appetites for dinner, but what the heck, you only live once.)
On Saturday, we all (minus my mom and sister who opted for some mother/daughter time together) went to Abilene to take the train ride that runs to Enterprise and back, then explore the county museum there and ride their carousel, THEN my sister brought take out pizza to my brother's house where the kids ran around some more, and the adults, including my mom, sat and talked.
The dinosaurs and Neanderthal Man were disappointed not to be invited to go to Abilene or the zoo or swimming, but when we all congregated at my house on Sunday afternoon, they got to meet everyone. I got them all to pose with each other. My sister was making silly faces, and everyone wanted to pose with my friend because she came up with such goofy ideas that the dinosaurs were laughing themselves silly by the time we were done. The Allosaurus, of course, wanted to pose with Dan because of his Texas Chainsaw Massacre T-shirt. He (the Allosaurus) is still on a Jurassic Park kick and gets a thrill out of horror movies.
Someone pointed out the strong family resemblance Neanderthal Man had to a number of us. I think if I can get back far enough with our family history, I might find the connection.
