Dinosaurs explore the Christmas stocking

After their stint in the Nativity scene, the dinosaurs were anxious to do something else. BUT, they hadn't a clue what kind of photo shoot they wanted. The themes committee hadn't met even once the whole Christmas season! I took this photo after I took the dinosaurs and all the Nativity figures off the top of the piano and put them on the table. When I came back I found a number of them exploring my Christmas stocking. It was no surprise that the majority of them were the youngsters -- Triceratops Twins undoubtedly were the ring leaders. The marine mammals had joined them and they had gotten the Mosasaurus to skinny down inside to see what kind of candy was left in there.

A word about the stocking. It is from my childhood. Each of us kids had one with our name on it (I'm Cathy to my parents and siblings) and all sort of elaborate decoration done in felt and beads and other such fancy stuff. I can't remember which relative or family friend made them for us. I'll ask Mom today. Mine has been coming apart and losing beads a little at a time for years. I keep thinking someday I'll repair it or get someone to do it...
they surely are a curious bunch.
