Just a bit windy

I am now wondering if the smoke in the distance in this photo http://365project.org/mcsiegle/365/2016-04-03 was a controlled burn or an unplanned wildfire. Yesterday there were fires in the extreme north edge of town and in and around Alma, a small town about 20 miles southeast of Manhattan. As you can see from this photo, it was extremely windy up on the hill on the Konza Prairie, and I remember thinking it was awfully windy to burn at that time. It's been so dry. We've gotten very little rain and a had a really mild winter -- very little snow. I found myself taking photos of my shadow on the trail to show how my hair was blowing around up there.

You can see the wind! Nice to read about the town Alma. This is the name of my mother who passed away in 2000. Funny enough we do have a cricket player in South Africa with the name AMLA. That is Alma spelling backwards.
