Annie @annied gave me this challenge:
"Hey Mary - was going to challenge you with a natural landscape scene but am not sure where you live so decided to go with a tree - photograph a tree to show off its natural beauty - does this work for you?"
Well, I took some tree photos and am still working on that, but in the meantime it was a gorgeous day yesterday and I took advantage of it by going out to the farmland that no longer belongs to my family, but that we are welcome to come out to anytime. I put a "vintage" layer on it to emphasize the timeless quality of the Flint Hills landscape. I can imagine my great grandfather looking out on this scene in the 1860's (he bought the first piece of it in 1859) The little pond may not have been there. I'm thinking it might have been constructed by my dad and uncle (or earlier by their father or grandfather). I'll have to ask my brother if he recalls.
