What a great line-up! Such artistic processing. I wonder if you might try an alternate version desaturating the stair rail in the background?

@jyokota That's a thought. I debated whether to just crop it to include only the ones with bare wall behind. That was my original intention, but I found myself kind of liking the inclusion of that bit of stairway. Since I don't have to get up for church tomorrow (was lector for the 6:00 pm mass today) I think I may try your suggestion right now.

@jyokota I'm back. I experimented with desaturating the bit of stairs -- painting on the B&W effect and then fading a bit to make it less stark. But I quit before I finished it off. The grayish tone was sucking the warmth from the image. I may have been going at it wrong... I did post in my Alternates album a version cropped to include only bottles with plain wall in the background. You can find it here: http://365project.org/mcsiegle/alternates/2017-06-02
and the original photo, only slightly cropped, just for context. http://365project.org/mcsiegle/alternates/2017-06-03
The bottles sit above the doorway from the entryway into the dining room, and have since we moved in sixteen years ago. I like seeing them up there so much, I made sure the contractor recreated the shelf up there (with improvements) in the hewly renovated version of that part of our house. Upstairs above the door into our bedroom we have a lineup of more colorful old pop bottles, which I love too. And finally I have a bunch of Mrs Butterworth bottles that I used to line up on the front porch of our house in Minneapolis. I can't do that in this house, but I stubbornly hold onto them.

Interesting to read your comments to Junko and to see the process in picture form
