The Triceratop Twins try stop motion modeling

OK -- we've proven it doesn't work very well on a still image. But I've got nothing else.

I got clear to this evening -- the end of the week -- and still had nothing for my get pushed challenge from Adi @adi314 to "do multiple exposures in an image."

I had put the movie Frank had chosen for movie night into the laptop for a little preview while he was watching 60 minutes on the TV and the Triceratops Twins came over out of curiosity (Naturally, since it was a dinosaur movie.) Frank had just previously been reading from the jacket of another movie -- a documentary about the making of these old stop motion animation dinosaur movies. When they started walking across in front of the keyboard, it occurred to me I had the perfect models right in front of my eyes! With a little negotiation I got them to pretend to be stop motion models of the sorts that were often used.

In retrospect, the Allosaurus would have been a better counterweight to the image on the screen. If not the Allosaurus, ONE Triceratops would have been better than two, as this image looks more than a bit jumbled together -- and it uses only every other image we took (which was 6 all together -- three are layered here.) Hard to tell where the Triceratops brother ends and his sister begins.

It's taken with the iPod propped up and taped in place because the battery for the camera AND the spare were both run down. And I very sloppily cloned out the sofa on the left so I beg you NOT to view to closely. But anyhow, as I said before, It's all I've got.
This is so cool! You have done so well putting your little guys along the bottom of your laptop.
I still struggle with multiple exposures and don't do nearly as well as you!

I’ll things considered I think you did a magnificent job

I think this is the point of the get pushed challenges. Sometimes we do things that don't come out like we want, but if you're like me, you will try them again sometime.

@adi314 I thought I tagged you last night but I don’t see it. Here’s my offering for the challenge you gave me. Maybe someday I’ll have another go at this idea, having learned a few things about what doesn’t work! :-)

@randystreat @grammyn @farmreporter Thank you, ladies, for the comments. Agreed, Kathy, that the get pushed challenge is supposed to stretch us, and we don’t always get what we had in mind, but we get a learning experience.

Hello Mary, thank you for my challenge! I have enjoyed looking through your project, you have such a wonderful set of photos! For your challenge this week please look out for "something out of place" and shoot it in any way that you wish. Have fun!!

@365anne Thanks, Anne! I could shoot my whole house — ha ha — In every room there are lots of things out of place. But that would be more depressing than interesting. I’ll be on the lookout for something that would make a good photo.

@adi314 No worries. Take care of yourself and get well. If you do post something for the challenge tag me.
