Eight minutes and 46 seconds — The length of time the police officer knelt on the neck of George Floyd. I see a reference to other incidents as well “ hands up Don’t shoot “

One of a trio of metal sculptures I recently saw on campus. I don’t know if they are on temporary exhibit or a permanent addition to the public art on campus. It was about a week ago I saw them on my way to the Student Union, and they might be gone by now.

I posted this one earlier this evening hastily without explanation and with a different title because I’ve again gotten behind and I wanted to get something up before heading out for the evening. Apologies for that lapse.

Here are the other two:

Oh My! I find this disturbing for a college campus!

Strange sculpture, but I like the shadows.

@grammyn @shutterbug49 @graemestevens @kali66 @randystreat Oh dear, I posted this earlier with no explanation. I’ve now put up pictures of the other two sculptures. It makes quite a powerful statement, but I can easily see how disturbing it appears out of any context. It was the shadow in this shot that made me choose this one to post.

I feel that it took a great deal of courage to install this- it does seem appropriate for a collage campus, a place of learning and expanding of knowledge even though some may find it uncomfortable.
