Fork Week — Day One by mcsiegle

Fork Week — Day One

This fork (my favorite) was hard at work when I told him that he had been tapped for my get pushed challenge this week, given to me by @northy — “for your challenge - i give you... the fork... preferably in black and white... and preferably not in it's typical setting...“

I told him that this would probably be the only full color photo this week, because the challenge emphasizes black-and-white. But I did promise him that I would try to take at least some of the photos with my camera instead of my phone.

I may regret choosing this particular fork. I took the first photo on this surface which sits on top of the kitchen counter. But he complained that the light was too dark there, and I did have to agree. I carried him out to the other room and plunked him down on top of the piano bench that has a thin, faded pad on it. I said, “we can pretend this is a tablecloth!“ The fork pointed out that he showed up much better against the darker surface in the kitchen. I didn’t have a lot of time to waste as I was going to have to get to work very soon, and the microwave dinner was getting colder. So I hauled the dark gray slab off the counter, wiped it off and brought it into the better light in the music room. This photo satisfied both of us and I had time to eat half of the remaining cold food before heading to work. I’ll eat the rest today. The rest of the week, or most of it, should be black and white. Stay tuned!
@northy The beginning of Fork Week. This photo doesn’t really fit the brief — it’s not black-and-white and it’s in a typical setting for this fork. The rest of the week I’ll keep those preferences in mind.
