Forks and Spoons

Fuller description of my playing/experimenting with these wooden eating implements against a matching background can be found, with a "Just Spoon" shot, on yesterday in this same album.

Any feedback and constructive criticism would be much appreciated.
I really really like this one. It could be framed!

I think this works really well. I love the composition and the way that you have used the different grain directions to create contrast and visual interest. I think that the lighting lets it down a little - it is a bit 'murky' and there is some shadowing around the implements that distracts slightly from the image. I'm at the limit of my (minimal) technical competence here, but what it feels it needs to me is a more uniform & warmer illumination to bring out the colours of the wood more. Hope this isn't too harsh - I love the inventiveness and personal style that you bring to your images & look forward to what you are going to do next!

@philr Thank you so much for taking the time to give me all that feedback. Not at all too harsh. I very much appreciate your constructive suggestions.

I really like this and thought that you'd been playing with very clever effects in the processing. I think you have a good eye for what makes an effective image.

I like the complementary tones and shapes and the opposing grains - cool composition.
