My dad's genius jerry-rigged self-portrait technique
I was going to post this on Sunday (Father's Day), but forgot. So I'm posting it today - Tues 6/18 - on Sunday's date in my Alternates album.
This is not an example of my photography - except for the fact that I very quickly and without much care snapped photos of two pictures in my mom's photograph album just to remember them. They show Mom and Dad sometime in the 1980's, and describe my dad's solution for how to take a picture of both of them. He didn't have any kind of fancy time-delay etc. But my dad could rig up just about anything to accomplish what he wanted to do. The top picture says:
"Contraption w/ camera wired onto ladder enabled Jack to take pic of both of us by means of cord tied to his leg!!"
The bottom says: "The result"
Mom told me he tied the cord to his leg in order to keep the cord out of the picture. So cool... I miss my dad.
