A while back, as I got out of my car in the parking lot on campus, I noticed a small leather item on the ground at my feet. For some reason unknown to me I photographed it. Then I got the urge to photograph other things on the pavement -- sidewalk, parking lot, etc. I figured when I get nine I'll make them into a collage. I didn't want regular litter -- cigarette butts, candy wrappers. And I didn't want leaves or sticks -- I wanted man-made items that didn't belong where I found them. Eventually I got my nine. I made an exception to the rule for the apple core. It was lying there between two bright yellow lines on the parking lot and looked so great I just HAD to take the picture. This is the first collage I made of my nine things. But I also wanted something less staid and organized. So I made another: http://365project.org/mcsiegle/365/2016-03-22
