This day’s January Challenge was about mindfulness—tuning out the busyness and distractions and spend five minutes in meditation on a raisin or other small thing.
“Pick a raisin, any raisin.” Disclaimer: this is not my 5-minute meditation raisin. I ate it—slowly, paying attention to taste and texture, as I was asked to do during the five minutes. Very tasty! It was only afterwards I realized I had not photographed my raisin as I’d intended. This one is similar. On the one side it’s flat with what looks like a thumbprint Impressed in it. The other side is typical wrinkly raisin textured. These were not your run of the mill raisins. They were from a package labeled “Golden Jumbo Crimson Raisins.” I love the way the light shines through them.
Agree with you about the light. I love the way you have compiled the photo as well. I have to confess it tickled me to think about you contemplating raisins!
I like your stories and illustrations. I'm not sure I could spend 5 minutes with a raisin. It would be eaten ignored. But then I'm not a particularly mindful person.

Love your narrative, calming and meditative. That's very clever to get the light shining through it
