I caught the chocolates bouncing on the bed that my sister, Barb, had me sleeping in. I mean bouncing en masse! Not taking turns. They were landing upside down and on top of each other and laughing hysterically. The one you see making his way unsteadily off the bed was so dizzy I was afraid he would FALL off. Thankfully no one did--nor did anyone throw up on the nice quilt you see here! I would have posted this earlier, but I needed to check with Barb to see what she remembered about the quilt. I was thinking that our mom made it from various left-over fabrics--some of which we should be able to recognize. But I was only looking at the bits visible here. She's not sure, but thinks that grandma started the piecework but didn't finish it and then mom did the rest. She's pretty sure that the quilting of it was done by someone else as neither grandma nor mom had a quilting frame. You didn't really need to know all that, and for sure the chocolates didn't care, but as long as I was showing you a few family things that Barb had, I thought I would include that bit of information. That is the last picture I took there. And I confess that we haven't had the photo shoots we should have so far. So the chocolates and I will be playing catch up AGAIN. Stay tuned--or not.
What a beautiful quilt and pattern for it! I have some similar quilts made by my grandmother and great grandmother, which makes me think this is more of that vintage for you instead of from your mother. Either way it makes a beautiful backdrop for your chocolates.
