Have you ever woken up in a bad mood and you don't know why? I have, and I did today. I was in a foul mood all morning. It slowly subsided throughout the day, but it meant I couldn't be bothered to make too much effort today with my daily photo. In the end I took a few photos of the Christmas decorations my neighbours have in their front garden.
In post-processing I increased the clarity and contrast, and I increased the presence of the dark tones to make the decorations stand out a bit more from their surroundings. Oh, and I obviously converted it to black and white!
I wrote an article about this project for a website. Searching 4 inspiration ( http://bonvilston.org.uk/S4I/) is a new online photographers network, and the owner of the site asked for permission to use one of my photos. I agreed, and he later asked for a brief article about my project. I provided something a little lengthier than he expected, but then I am an Internal Communications Manager! Have a read if you're interested ( http://s4iprojects.blogspot.com/2010/12/personal-view-of-365-project-by-vikas.html).
Coincidentally, another more established website called shutterphoto.net has asked for permission to use my blog link in a list of "great projects to follow in the new year". I duly agreed, so I might be getting some increased exposure over the coming weeks. It's nice to know that my work is getting some recognition.
Semi-professional photographer based in Nottingham, England, I shoot mainly events and weddings. I'll be posting my work using my Fujis - X100S and X-Pro1.

Great news on your shutterphoto.net opportunity. Hopefully this helped to change your mood! I am going to have to agree with Andy, these lawn ornaments are nice but not as big and outrageous as Graham's. Ha. Well done.
:)
I like this shot! I like how you captured the pool of light just surrounding the decorations.
Fantastic news with the increased exposure (no pun intended) of your work. :D I hope it goes well!
I love this B/W!
