Smooth Sea by megpicatilly

Smooth Sea

I have been trying to achieve this 'smooth' water look for sometime without success. Still not quite there - definitely room for improvement - using a tripod appears to be the only way!!

It's good!! Better than when we tried it at Hastings! It looks good on black

Yep, you gotta use a tripods 😉 This is really nice. And a fav. Just a thought but have you tried getting closer to the waters edge and maybe focusing on the sea moving around the rocks. I watch a lot of videos of seascape photographer's and like me (on the rare occasions I get the chance) they always seem to set up at the waters edge 😉

@paul10 thank you for the fav Paul - no I hadn't thought of that but thank you - I am going to give that a try. I suppose you have to be confident about the tide - my tide app is ok but really should buy a tide table booklet! Again thank you for giving me an idea!

@megpicatilly You're welcome. I get you're worries over the tide. It's never good to take a chance with such things. Will look forward to seeing your results though 😉

@30pics4jackiesdiamond Jackie thank you - I have an app for android called 'tide times' so will look at the one you recommend. Didn't have my trusty wellies with me at the time - but you are right - they will definitely be with me next time.!! Thank you for the fav

What about using a gorilla pod ( https://www.amazon.com/JOBY-GorillaPod-Original-Lightweight-Flexible/dp/B0087FFTT2/ref=sr_1_3?s=photo&ie=UTF8&qid=1477347743&sr=1-3&keywords=gorilla+pod) and using it on one of the smaller rocks closer to the water level?
This image is lovely unto itself so don't discount it. Fav!
