Our heat wave is expected to continue into next week. As well as high temperatures (around39C) we also had strong, hot, easterly winds all day. Unfortunately there were two large bushfires, one north of the city and one south. It is feared that some homes may have been lost in the north.
A beautiful image but the circumstances that provided it are scary. We had bad forest fires in BC this past summer with extensive property loss and several lives lost including, sadly, some firefighters.
Wonderful shot - love the detail in the pelican. I hope they can bring those fires under control before they hit the towns. Summer looks like it's going to be dreadful...
