We were fishing on the small local lake today when I looked far over on the bank and saw a spot of color in an unusual place. Had to stop fishing and motor on over - a whole cluster of prickly pear cactus! Only ones on the lake as far as I could tell. Real sunshine. Better than the fishing was today!
Thank you all. Think this is one of my best surprises this spring. I've fished this lake for 30 years and had never seen them before (and it's a small lake!). Guess it must be the timing.
