You have your subject at a distance from the background and (I checked your exif info) your lens at full zoom (at a guess), and quite a wide aperture setting which will have given you this lovely bokeh in the background.
It's a beautiful shot.
@dulciknit Thanks so much for the lesson, Alison. I'm trying to learn all I can from comments people make. I've gotten in the habit of looking at the exit info on shots I like to try to learn the differences in settings.
