When the Cockatoos first started coming down, there was a VERY quiet one and Rhoda painted ref Fingernail polish on his foot and his wing so we would recognise him amongst the rest of them. ha ha ha
First, this is simply a beautiful image of this Mockingbird. His pose is perfect, your composition is so nice, and the background bokeh is gorgeous. But how neat that it seems this feathered friend is here to greet you each day! Animals and birds have patterns and habits, and you are surely a part of this fellow's day, no doubt about it.
You asked about what the acorn was sitting on in my Mighty Oak Seed image. It's a cut log. The bottom was flat but the top surface had an odd angle which made it rather a challenge to get that little acorn to stay where I wanted it. And then on top of that, it was dreadfully windy. The acorn was blown off the log a bunch of times, breaking his cap off eventually.
