Those starling-sized Dunlins --> Alpiner Strandläufer / Calidris alpine (subspecies) are rare visitors in Switzerland. As this is a landlocked country, it can be seen when it stops here on autumn migration.
Dunlins (here in eclipse plumage) are one of the hardiest of all shorebirds, breeding far north in the Arctic region and migrating southwards as far as Africa. Resting at daytime, flying at night.
This is technically not the best picture. I was after some sunrays from the setting sun breaking through dark clouds and not having the best lens with me.
But… you know, this is just a happy moment, seeing those travellers having a break at our lake.
