Jumping spider by monicac

Jumping spider

He was not very interested in posing, so I had to put him into a glass to keep him from jumping. As soon as he realised he couldn't jump away, he decided to play dead.

According to google, it's a male Plexippus paykulli, and quite harmless.
How the heck did you catch him to put in a glass. never heard of jumping spiders.

@bruni It was easier than it seems. He was on a mosquito net, so I put a piece of paper below the spider, and an upturned glass - dome-like -over him, leaning on the net. When he tried to escape, I just "closed" the glass with the paper, took it to the floor and removed the paper. VoilĂ ! spider under a glass.
Up to two or three years ago, I hadn't heard of jumping spiders either, now they are seen now and again in houses. They look terrifying, but won't disturb you unless they feel very threatened. After the picture, I took him outside, and it jumped away quite happily.
