This is the new way of meeting Santa in the mall: children can not have any direct contact with him, they have to sit in the provided red chairs. And, instead of handing him their letters, they tell him what they want, and he takes notes - after making sure they have been good, of course! Strange as it may look to adults, the little girls were delighted, as were all the excited little kids waiting in the line.
Wow! I am jealous. In our mall everyone had to be masked up, including Santa and the kids sit in front of him socially distanced on a bench. :-( Doesn't make for the best photo. :-( Of course, my kids didn't think anything of it and still were excited.
@skibunny5981 The kids were more than 2m away from Santa, that's why he isn't masked. Kids here only have to wear masks if they are 6 or older. These young ladies were both under 6, but they had been wearing a mask, and they removed them "so that Santa would recognise them". They wore their masks again as soon as their time with Santa was over.
@monicac That's awesome! This picture looks way more magical than the photo I have of my kids. :-( My kids were also distanced 6 feet away from Santa but they all had to be masked regardless. There were a few places in our area where they let you remove the mask for the photo but not in the malls. My oldest really loves seeing Santa in the mall because it is the only place to see "real" Santa (with a real beard) LOL!
