Victor3

This is what is under the footboard... the first photo you saw.
All those old parts are so beautifully done!

Martin, my piano tuner, told me that he knows of one other Victor piano that looks like mine but it's in such bad condition, he calls it 'flogged'... he loves mine because of how well-kept it is.
And I love it because it was my Grandma's. All I've ever wanted was to hear it in tune; and now it is, I now want to learn how to play it properly.. I want to learn jazz, blues and improv.

Hey Linda, Martin tunes my piano too. Seeing as I think we live in the same city, its probably the same guy!

Yay for an in-tune piano! I finally got mine tuned, and I want to learn as well. Let us hear how it goes when you start your lessons!

@ Kate: Is he a youngish 30-something-looking guy who drives a purple car? Last name is Holmes? He doesn't actually play the piano, but loves the old ones. :)

He's a drummer in a band really... and has been a tuner for 14 years.

I'm going okay now... as I've got a 'Chef' teach-yourself book... it's been going well getting my left hand moving where it never used to.

Awesome...now I am inspired...hopefully I'll make time for it, if not in the next month - on my summer break! I do find that the more I practice, the better the left hand moves. Nice photo, by the way!

Linda... regarding your chat with the Magpie... the last few days, I had the same conversation with the Ma and Pa Robin... the feathers on their heads and back would stand up... and I am guessing, Pa would run up and down the roof edge to let me know that i needed to get out of there... I hated disturbing them.,.. but couldn't help...
