Yesterday was Mum's 65th Birthday... and last night was her celebration!
We went to Sultan's Turkish Restaurant at Sandgate. What a place! The ceiling was painted, there were stain-glass windows, a dance floor, a DJ and people dancing to Turkish rock'n'roll music! How very cool! They had 2 birthday groups where they sang Happy Birthday in Turkish to each of them... Mum loved it!
And the food! That top meal was my meal of the Prawn Hot Pot... it was delish! But I couldn't finish, even though my stomach wanted more... the potato was just that: potato mashed up and put into a bowl with nothing added to it (no butter, no milk/cream - nothing) and the rice was perfect!
Everyone else ordered banquets and I had the most delicious home-made ice tea - peach flavoured - and it wasn't too sweet or tart.
What a night! We had so much fun... Mum had so much fun! :D
Writer, poet, artist and prolific reader.... that's me.
I'm a collector of books, vinyls, coin purses and strange handbags... that's me too.
Otherwise, I love...
@loey5150@digitalrn@wendyfrost Thank you all for your wonderful comments. It was a great night out with family and friends. We totally enjoyed ourselves there; and I'd absolutely eat there again. :D
