Morning

I spent the morning at our local school's "State Fair".
For those who do not experience this (wish I did in 4th grade!), it's the finale to spending the year learning about the US states & regions. Each child has a state that they do additional research on and they build a "float". In some schools, the kids make actual parade floats that are on wagons, etc. and they have an actual parade of floats. Our school has scaled it down to about shoebox size. For an additional touch, Thing 2 downloaded the state song and played it through the portable ipod speaker seen on the right.
This year, instead of just having the parents come in and mill around room to room, we were first treated to a concert of patriotic songs before walking through the parade of displays.
Thing 2 reinforced my belief she's going to make a great engineer some day ;)
