One of my favorite places to go in the Botanic Gardens is the Cool House. The temperature in the Cool House is kept between 15 and 25 degrees Celsius with a relative humidity of 90%. This is done to simulate mountain rainforest conditions so that plants which would otherwise wither in the infernal heat outside can thrive in the Cool House. There are mosses, ferns, orchids and carnivorous plants.
I always visit the Cool House when I'm at the Gardens. It's a great place to cool off and escape the sun and heat for a while. And it's where I can take shots of tiny clover leaves heavy with even tinier, perfectly globular, water droplets! 8)
Beautiful macro. Almost looks like a clover underneath all of those drops. Its a incredible to think that the water holds on there so well without collapsing the plant or dripping off.
Funny, I`m glad when we have 15 degrees outside yet. Love the greens and water drops. I never look the seem again to clover in my lawn . It`s weed in our country.
Amazing macro, those drops are like tiny crystal balls! The Cool House sounds neat, but it made me laugh because we have the opposite thing here, it's about 15 C outside right now, and we go to the warm & sunny conservatory to see all the tropical plants and birds! :)
I am with Reva! We have a hot house to keep plants warm - orchids and cyclamen etc. It would be neat to see those plants! Tiny clover leaf - you must have got down really close!
A humongous, dew-kissed, sparkly and fresh "THANK YOU!" to everyone!
I love taking pictures of water droplets in the Cool House because they are plentiful and look so perfectly round. It's hard to focus well when they are so tiny but that's because I lack the skill to do so. That's why I always look forward to practising my macro shots at the Cool House!
Thank you so much for taking the time to look and comment. Please know that I am grateful for your support. Thank you very much!
I think in this country we call it a hot house :}
