At times, doing this project seemed like an uphill climb. Especially after I'd developed an obsession with macro shots because, every time I go to the park, the mangrove forest or the nature reserve, I was taking chances. I had no idea if I would find any interesting bug or spider to shoot. There were days when I returned with no shots at all.
This red weaver ant was making his way up the stem of a crown flower plant.
In other news, The Husband has bought me a new desktop to replace the one that died! It's an Asus gaming desktop with a GTX560 graphic card and a water cooling system inside! XD I'm still using my old Samsung monitor, I didn't change the settings but, somehow, everything looks brighter, more detailed, more beautiful. What a difference a great graphic card makes. I can't wait to play games on this machine. (I'm on Windows 7, not 8. Yay!) Two more days! 8D
Great macro....now you just need Retina display and things would be really awesome....great graphics and I know you'll have fun playing your games on it....did you ever play the Myst games? or are they too mundane?
This needs to be framed. Your macro is WOW!!! What will you do at the end of your 365. If you dont do another year please blog so we can all still follow your art.
Wow, what a shot. I love the contrasts of the colours (the ant vs. the green) and your composition is ridiculously fabulous! :) You're finishing your year with such style!
Excellent Choice! Boy you and my Son would get along Great! He last computer was the Asus!! And he is a Adament Gamer!! Cant believe only 2 more days!! Great Focus and Color as Usual! Glad you got the Shot! :)...and you are back in working order!
@maggiemae Oooh, it's an archaic way of cooling the computer? I don't have the faintest idea, I thought it was a pretty radical method. Most computers are fan-cooled. But the high-end graphic cards for gaming purposes generate so much heat, that fans just aren't enough.
A great, big, determined, uphill but persevering "THANK YOU!" to everyone for stopping by and leaving a comment! My new PC is working well, it's quiet and fast, I am thankful to The Husband for getting it for me. 8)
@claireuk Red weaver ants are territorial and aggressive and I always take care not to go too near! If I see lots of them together, I avoid them. I only take photos of lone ants. 8)
@gooner46 Although I would like to, I might not be able to return, owing to lack of time. I have too many hobbies. XD
Congrats on the new computer. ENJOY.
Enjoy the new computer. :)
Have to admit your final paragraph is total gobble de gook to me but presumably you have a new working pc, that is good then :0))
Can't believe you are so close to the end now:0(
