I shot these mating moths in the mangrove forest at the Pasir Ris Park.
When I first saw them, I thought I was looking at a pile of yellow fuzz. I didn't even think I was looking at anything alive. It took me a few seconds to realize they were moths in a mating posture. (I was having a Slow Brain Day!) These moths were small at only about 2cm (0.8in) long. In case you're still wondering, their heads—with their fuzzy antennae and forelegs—are at the extreme left and right.
Aaah Pasir Ris. We used to go there lots when we lived in Singapore, the children loved it. It had changed a bit when we went there on our visit last year. Great shot! I would have guessed that it was a chrysalis if I had seen it.
Excellent color and detail. What cool find!
Amazing details, love all those fuzzy bits! Very cool capture!
What an amazing capture--wow!!!! The detail is incredible.
I `m not able to say it better . @miwolf@salza@yonnie Thanks for borrow you lines
Moths doing the nasty? Yup. That's a first for me too! Then again, if you told me it was a photograph of yellow fuzz I would believe that too! Great detail!
oh my, then i am having a slow brain day too!! took me some time to figure this one out, lol! I thought it was some sort of cocoon, awesome find and shot:)
A great, big, moth-friendly, lovey-dovey, fuzzy and yellow and bright "THANK YOU!" to everyone! Thank you for taking the time to stop by and meet the happy moths! They are certainly the fuzziest little moths I've ever seen. 8)
@bubbaloooo My favorite place to go for these macro shots is a mangrove forest at a coastal park. Also an eco park with lots of tall grass and a few ponds. Looking for bugs and insects does take a lot of concentration and energy since they're so tiny, but I enjoy that sense of adventure and discovery every time I go looking for them. 8)
o_O Oh my! Seriously though, another outstanding Livia bug macro!! And what fascinating moths! I've never seen anything like them before! So beautifully yellow! :)
Amazing details, love all those fuzzy bits! Very cool capture!
