Lovely colors with the sun shining through! I am not sure if the red borders make it better, doubt it, but anyway that's personal. I always ask myself the question: would the processing make it better and could this have been placed in e.g. a magazine. For that reason some years ago I stopped with all creative borders.
where did the boat picture go? you upset with me? :-) and how come everyone's getting good lighting on their pics? and i ask too many questions. love the colours and your pov, kathy.
@summerfield You never ask too many questions! It is posted in December. I Love, reading your comments Summerfield, I ALWAYS welcome honest feedback. Don't EVER worry about offending me, I appreciate it! After looking at the boat I thought, now I dont' like it as much as I did at first. I put it in December, and this was another shot I took during the same series (along with different lake shots). @tigerdreamer I didn't remove the border Karen, it is the red frost. Thank you for your feedback, I always apprecate it, @httpgeffed Wow Colleen thank you for the Fav and your comments, always appreciated! @swilde@digitalrn Thank you so very much for commenting on my pic's I appreciate it so very much! @susieb@djepie Thank you so much Susie & Jaap - I always wonder about those borders too. Sometimes it seems to add & finish the shot off. I think that is a good way to look at it Jaap, I will use that as a reference. What do you think about the standard boxed border? I appreciate both of your comments so much! @myautofocuslife@wordpixman@sugarmuser Thank you so much for your comments & feedback! I really appreciate it very much!
Wonderful capture! I took so me shots of my trumpet vine the other day and they were not nearly as beautiful!. The border gives it a very artistic effect!
@myhrhelper Suppose you mean somtething like http://zoom.nl/foto/35500/dieren/ochtendstemming.html?object=album&object_id=1745 being an example of one of my older pics ont he fabulous zoom forum where I had been an active member for some years and learned so much. Maybe the rule should be that the border should not distract. As long as people say Wow about your photo and not about your border there's no problem. The photo is the object of art, not the border. But again, that's my humble opinion.
Kathy we shared a discussions earlier and you even commented on one of my pixes (Tiger lilies) that the background was distracting. Often a colorful border is a compliment to the pix, like wrapping paper on a gift. I vote for the border!
@ajes I just looked at your pix again and I think you have a real talent in photography, especially your flower pictures. I remember someone bringing up the border issue and sent an article. I really do think it is a personal preference. I go back in forth on what I like personally. When I look at your shots I don't think you "over" did any of your processing.
