( Life is Beautiful)
For the artist challenge.Inspired by Mari Mahr's
"Time for Sorrow" series http://marimahr.com/works/between_ourselves/between_ourselves_time_for_sorrow_1.html
This is a little drawer from a side table.I placed a print of an image of flowers I took this past winter inside.Flowers, vegetables and all growing things always remind me of my grandfather Antonio. He fostered my love of growing things. Here is an image I took of him long ago : http://365project.org/mzzhope/contests/2013-10-31
"Mari Mahr is known for her black and white images in which she combines 2d prints with 3d objects and rephotographs them, producing surreal and illusory imagery. Her themes are dreams, memory, family relationships, journeys and diaspora"
Just amazing, and a great example of the genre. Your grandfather reminds me of my wife's Dido (Ukranian for grandfather) He and her Grandmother (Baba) loved gardening too. They always had fresh tomatoes cucumbers, beans etc. I miss them too.
