Hold Your Breath by naomi

Hold Your Breath

Hold your breath and count to ten
Hold your breath and keep on holding
Until your eyes water
Your ears roar
Your lungs threaten to burst
Hold your breath until stars swim in front of your eyes
Hold your breath until the tears dry up
The panic subsides
The pain in your lungs drowns out the pain in your heart
Keep holding
Hold your breath and send up a prayer
That the thick muck clogging your veins empties out
Hold your breath and pray to a God you stopped believing in
A long time ago
Hold your breath and look up to the stars
Wonder what's up there
Hold your breath and think about dying
Hold your breath and wish you could stop thinking about dying
Hold your breath and tell yourself it's a bad day
It will be better in the morning
You're just tired
Hold your breath and pretend you believe it
(For the 65th day running)
Hold your breath and count to ten
Then let it out again
Healthy bodies aren't supposed to die young

I have rewritten this so many times it's not even funny. It kept smudging all over.

I need to find some coping asap because currently everything is a mess.
I don't recommend holding your breath, but taking deep slow breaths and releasing the breath slowly. Exhaling all those unhelpful thoughts each time they enter your head.
