Groove And Enamel by natsnell

Groove And Enamel

Using the clamp I made a few days ago to hold the rings nice and firm (top left) I cut grooves round each ring (bottom left).

Then I mixed some cold enamel (top right) and applied it to the rings so it filled the grooves (bottom right).

The contraption in the bottom right I made out of meccano and a small motor. It turns the rings slowly so the cold enamel does not run down and drip off while it goes hard.

The excess enamel will be sanded away and polished to leave a thin line round the rings.
I look forward to the finished product.
By the way, what has happened to the family photo competition and where's Graham?

I'm really enjoying watching your work in progress and what's especially interesting is seeing the equipment like the meccano device that you're making to do the making.

Kathy @kjarn I'm sure the family competition will be back. I think Graham @mrgtrueman is focusing his spare time on Linzy and Henry. Only a few more weeks until the summer holidays then I’m sure Graham will treat us to some more photos.

Great to have the story behind the rings as well. I'm really looking forward to seeing the finished products.
