Finally got my new baby, that hulking and handsome chunk of plastic and magnesium, the Canon 60D that I haven't really planned on, but as usual, the missus somehow read my thoughts and saw that I had this unspoken need not really for an upgrade, but for a camera capable of meeting my needs.
I know that she was really excited to get a new camera, but I think she was even more excited to see my reaction when the camera was actually delivered to our home.
Thanks hun. This has got to be the earliest, awesomest birthday present. Evar. :D

The camera in the rear is a Yashica FX-3 I think...the first camera I ever saw and touched in my life. Next in line is the Olympus E-510, my first DSLR, which has taken my early pictures here in 365. Right behind the Canon is my tiny, trusty D3000, a donation from my father, which also contributed a lot to this project.
This is SOOC (from a borrowed 500D)! Well, aside from the watermark. :D
Love this! Love the line-up. How much heavier is that Canon, eh?? I have the 50D, but we just bought a Nikon D40 from a friend, and I am in love with how light it is!! Congrats, your honey is soooo sweet!
@viranod that actually crossed my mind until i realized that with the olympus, all the cool lenses i used were borrowed (from my brother)...with the nikon, i only have the kit lens and a 35mm prime...i really did not have a "system" so i think i can start building the canon lineup from here. :D thanks!
@laceyjogautreau thanks lacey! she really is so sweet. :D i haven't really held the 50d and 60d side by side, but from what i read online, the 60d is actually smaller and less tough than the 50d, it's life is even shorter than the 50d (150,000 shots vs the 60d's 100,000 rated shots till shutter 'death'). though i love its video function and the tilting screen! :D
@laceyjogautreau aww, don't worry, your 50d is in it for the long haul...i'm sure it won't conk out on you, i know even my old ones haven't! :D @webfoot thanks so much, paul! @annaruth a point and shoot is still a good thing to have, i find them most convenient when shooting in the mall when mall cops are around lol..thanks! :D @canberrabec thanks, rebecca! :D @pacole thanks phil! was actually considering the d7000 but it's still a bit pricey as of now :D @mimo thanks, mimo! :D @jodimuli exactly why i love it---all my old ones are tiny DSLRs, i'm sure i'll have lots of fun with it :D @pimenta aww thanks ana...i will try to take decent pictures with it, but right now all i can do is stare at it with a crazy grin! :D @bill_d thanks, bill! :) @player13 thanks, suchart! :D
Congrats! Excited to see the coming photos!
