On the Waterfront by northy

On the Waterfront

Some random person (as my kids would say) standing on the rocks overlooking Lake Ontario...

I think I overburned the top right-hand corner, but I'm not sure how to fix that... Much practice is clearly needed :)

Other than that, I think this works in black and white... colour version is on flickr if anyone is interested...

At least this one is straight :P Good example of why the rule of thirds dosent always have to be used and love that little vignette. Love it, fav-a-roo

Great capture, she looks like she is wearing a bathing suit from the 1900's

Love the bands in this & how the random person breaks it up. I prefer it in the b&w.
Top right - the dodge tool can be used to lighten areas a little. In Lightroom you could use the adjustment brush to get a similar effect. Or cheat & crop it. ;)

I prefer the coloured version. It gives a better perspective and layers to the composition :)

Hi Northy! Your challenge for the Get Pushed theme, if you wish to accept it, is...

To find and photograph something with bright, bold colours. I'm thinking something that could belong to a particular ethnic tradition that has a bit of a design to it. Let me know if that's going to be difficult (=virtually impossible) where you are and I'll think of something else.

I love the composition!

I love your use of space on this.. Beautiful shot

I think the burn adds a bit of atmosphere here, if you really wanted it gone you could just clone it out (even in picmonkey)
terrific shot!

@cmc1200 Tx! Yeah - I get what you mean about eerie... I almost captioned it "the French Lieutenant's Woman"...

The framing on this is great. Gorgeous photo.

I like how the person looks so tiny against the expanse of the landscape (or waterscape I guess).
