Walk this way...

For the "breaking the rules" challenge to angle a shot...

http://365project.org/discuss/themes-competitions/13693/breaking-the-rules-angle-your-shot

This black and white stuff is becoming addictive! I really really really planned to seek out some colour today... but this just screamed for black and white and that's all she wrote!

Thank you, as always, for all the views, comments and faves... :)
yep this is very cool b&w and great angle on this one

Great angle, but now I am dizzy!

I'm starting to get addicted to b&w and muted tones too! It just really fits some shots much more! This is great for the theme!

who said everything has to be the right way up!
August 4th, 2012
Great b&w
August 4th, 2012
great angular shot… love the B&W

Love the angles and that strong tonal look is very nice, great work on the processing Northy

I like the lines in this...and the black and white. You've got a great eye!

I see you have really embraced b&w photography with a passion lately, northy. Will this be your medium of choice for the remainder of your project?
August 4th, 2012
The angle works really well. Nothing wrong with b&w. ;)

@cromwell well - if you'd told me three months ago what my photos would look like today i'd've thought you were funnin' me - so who knows? ;p but since my early photog loves were ansel adams and doisneau, and my college room posters (over 20 years ago now - gulp) were inevitably b&w - it's a good possibility!

Lovely tones in this show and grate timing placing the walker in the corner emphasises the tilt. There's some shots that are allot better B&W than colour and i cam imagine this being one.

Oooh, I like the lines! And how you've included the man walking under the stairs, and wearing a striped shirt! Cool capture. 8)
August 4th, 2012
fantastic abstract lines and contrast!
August 4th, 2012
Great abstract shot and love the angle and textures in the shot!

any other way up would have made it less interesting, and any colour in it too. This is perfect!

The angles on the building make very strong lines when you angle it this way. Glad to see the dude in the bottom corner for perspective.
August 4th, 2012
It's absolutely wonderful in b/w. Nice angle
August 4th, 2012
The angles of the building work really well with the angle of your shot. Nicely done!
August 4th, 2012
I almost missed the fella in the corner! Even his shirt lines are angled :)

Works very well - thought I was being exposed to Escher's work there for a minute. Lovely stuff
August 4th, 2012
Great angles and processing. The man in the corner is great for the perspective.
August 4th, 2012
nice angle, cool shot
August 4th, 2012
Great angle shot!

nod
This one is really nice, and strength of the photo is on the pattern of the lines. But if it's me, I would cut the top by about 1/5th. Probably at the point where the white and black meet on the top left, or just above it. IMO, this will pull the focus of attention to the man.

@nod hmmm... interesting you say that... i do see what you mean... i tend to struggle with balancing the surroundings / architecture with the humans... i inevitably end up on the side of the architecture... you're not the first one to point this out and clearly i need to think about this a bit more... tx!!!!

nod
@northy It's really a personal choice. Pattern or focus on the man... And I just like panorama format more than others.
August 4th, 2012
@nod what aspect ratio do you use? (i've been playing with this a lot lately)
August 4th, 2012
I'm struggling with the angled shots, I'm just not sure when it adds to the shot and when it just looks silly. I like the guy in this for perspective.
August 5th, 2012
Nice...it's angled AND there are lots of angles in the shot. I hadn't seen this challenge. I LOVE angled shots.
August 5th, 2012
Love the black and white and the angular shapes of the building, cool composition too.
August 5th, 2012
Love all the greys and blacks and whites and angles with that little, tiny guy right in the corner xx
August 5th, 2012
I love how you have broken the rules on this.. brilliantly done
August 5th, 2012
Oh I like this. The angle makes it.
August 6th, 2012
I like how the picture seems to pivot around the guy in the corner. That is what makes the tilt work for me.
August 9th, 2012
I like a lot this sort of image. I enjoy the angle too
