I was making another run at the white on white thing for my "get pushed" challenge (another epic fail... apparently neither glass nor pearls are white) when I got photobombed :)
Thank you for the nice comments about my toothbrush shot from yesterday... incidentally, did you know how rare white toothbrushes are? It wasn't easy to find one!!!
@tryeveryday OMG! i watched a video and everything and still can't get the white on white thing... i have a few other shots of something else i haven't had time to look at yet and maybe one of them worked... if not, i will need to do so some serious searching for something truly white to shoot! ha ha ha! who would've thought this would be so hard!!!!
@ozziehoffy tx Cassandra... do you mean overexposing? so longer shutterspeed for the light? yep - i've tried that... i've been thru the rest of my shots from today and i have a couple with a different subject that kind of worked for white on white... the comp needs work tho... so hoping that i'll have it sorted by tomorrow :)
@northy Yeah, pretty much. White on white is hard... I think it's more about light and position. I have one that turned out ok but another had that greyer look and people thought I'd converted it, but it wasn't as bright. Brightness helps with white on white too.
@ozziehoffy i have a few that came out so-so... but the shadow killed it... i've been playing around with bouncing the light off white cards, but i don't have anything to hold 'em up with so it's a bit tricky... propping them up with whatever i can find :)
And here I thought I was giving you something that wouldn't be such a pain! Doesn't that just figure. :) While they weren't what you were wanting, I've really liked both shots. This photobomb is great!!
@tryeveryday tx Michelle... and i don't mind this kind of thing at all... i like trying to figure things out... and i learn huge amounts from the exercise, even when i "fail" :)
@northy haha I do that... a shot I did the other week.. the coloured tissue paper one ... I did it on my stove top with my knife block propping up some black cardboard to stop the unwanted reflection from around the outer edge of the window blind and something else at the back but can't think what. I quite often use knife blocks and kitchen things to hold things in place lol.
