You know when you've cropped and recropped, edited and re-edited, and you're still not happy with the results and then you just throw up your arms and play eenie meenie minie mow and just freakin' PICK ONE? yeah... one of those days...
Totally love how you used the curve to frame her. Maybe there's something bugging you in this particular shot, but the concept is great so why not revisit this idea later...
I like how the line leads you to the reader . . . (reading a real book)! It also seems to me that the weight of the concrete at that side of the photo balances where the weight of the image lies (not implying the reader as person per se but not being very articulate about how to say this well . . .)
What's not to like? Fantastically well framed, and you can get away with a lot more over processing when something is b&w. And love the dude just emerging from behind the pillar, really works for me. If I was to be picky, and I usually am, then I would have straightened a little and crop a little from the bottom as its a little to square for me. But yeah I like this quite a lot
Oh, I can totally relate to that throw your hands up feeling! Thats why this year was meant to be more 'relaxed' for me...maybe I just need to accept that I'm not a relaxed person, and I'm useless at decision making! Love this shot though, the composition and processing is brilliant, your choice seems spot on!
@jase_h tx Jase.... yeah - i was going to crop more, and then i decided to crop in lightroom and couldn't figure out how to make it so i wasn't forced into a specific aspect ratio (must.learn.lightroom) and then somehow neglected to pull it into PSE... guess i felt she didn't stand out enough from the background...
@northy When in Develop mode on the Settings Menu there is a "Constrain Aspect Ratio" and "Crop to Same Aspect Ratio" option, untick them. You need to be in crop mode though to change the "Constrain Aspect Ratio" one.
@robinwarner no worries... and thanks!!! when i first started doing street photography everyone kept mentioning your name as someone who does it wonderfully... but you'd pretty much gone by then, i think...
damn it northy! im struggling not to fav every single picture you take!! you're bloody marvelous lady! looks like you live in an interesting part of the worl
