After many a dull, cold and rainy morning, the sun decided to make an early appearance today... haven't a clue whether i really was able to capture the splendour with the camera and i don't care... I.WAS.THERE...
(and i took a squillion pictures and will probably subject you to oodles more over the next few days ;p)
Thank you for the honest and helpful feedback on my photo from yesterday... indeed, i think i fell for the tones in the light and failed to really think about the composition... I do have a couple photos of just the docks which I may upload later today...
Looks gorgeous! The golden tones are just wonderful and it must've been even more lovely seen "irl". I've been wondering about the flares, too. Would one have to have a bigger (umm, wider? deeper? whut?) lens hood? Would that help? Or not?
Beautiful! Love the warmth and the shadows. I was in bed this morning, then saw the wonderful sunrise happening around 7:20. Got out of bed but didn't know where I could run to find an empty clearing for a good view.
I see you knew exactly where to go - good for you for planning and getting such a wonderful morning shot! Now you know how I felt doing the landscape course in the morning. Glorious! :)
@russianblue tx Kass... i actually wasn't sure what dawn would be like from there... just figured there would be something to see and as i had to get up to take one of my boys to hockey practice anyway, decided to chance it rather than going to the same place over and over again :) it really was quite spectacular this morning... i expect it would have been grand even if the sun was rising over a garbage dump ;p
Wowwowwowwowwowwowwow this is so very incredible! Don't even know where to begin with all that I love in this one!! Super shot my dear! Fav Fav Fav!!!! :) :)
Wow - the long shadows and early, quiet feel. I love the sentiment ... there are times when it's time to let the picture go and absorb. In this case, you have the picture and you've absorbed - pretty sweet.
@shutterbugger tx Jenn... it's a bit of a no-brainer for me... i have to get up to bring one of my boys to hockey practice for 6:30... no point in going back to bed ;p
@shutterbugger yeah... sun rose around 7:40 or so... the earlier it gets the less chance i have of seeing it as my kid still needs help with tying his skates... as i was leaving the arena at 7am on sunday i saw the blue hour sky and it was amazing... i was kind of sad that i wasn't able to shoot it, but very glad i got to see it at all :)
