sorry Jeff... i deleted the version you commented on as there was a dot in the corner that was driving me crazy and i wanted to clone out... i wonder if i might have overdone the editing resulting in the "creepiness" factor?
I love Supertramp, have quite a few of their albums!!
It doesn't look canted to me, I think the angle of the partial floor mat in the foreground gives the illusion of changing the angle of the view.
That comment made a lot more sense in my head than it does in words...hope you get what I mean!!
I must be misinterpreting the rule of thirds, as I think this is a good example of using the thirds to compose the shot.
Love the light coming in the window. Hope those three are not e-mailing each other!!!!
@jsw0109 i think it's reading off his iphone ;p as i was leaving i contemplated taking a photo thru the window from the outside, but i had my morning frappa in one hand and a critical 9am mtg looming and thought i'd better not take the time///
Love the tones here, and like that they are in there own secret little place in more than one way, I so want to touch those noggins
Btw I don't thank for the contagious song stuck, I shouldn't have followed the link...I should know better
This truly is the culture across the (North American) land! I know I can always depend on Starbucks for a good cup of coffee and a snack where ever I may be!
@russianblue srsly? matrix???? omg! now i'm going to be seeing alien conspiracies everywhere! bahaaaaa! thank you for that... this probably explains most of the last two weeks at work ;p
Business breakfast, indeed. No time to just enjoy a cup of coffee, have to be effective and productive at the same time. That's the world today, yes. Great capture of it. And about the song - I definitely know it, but I'm sure I've only heard a more recent cover version of it by someone. But I think I ought to know Supertramp better, since I'm into the modern kind of prog rock & prog metal... I should know the classics.
Lovely shot. Fits the subject perfectly. I saw a similar possibility yesterday through the window of a coffee shop - three customers all looking at their phones. I considered taking a picture but I chickened out. I must get over my fear of being confronted.
Great shot - love the tones - is the art of conversation dead? Love the intense expression of the guy in the middle (is he reading an important report or just playing Angry Birds?). That tune is a blast from the past! : )
@dh just so you know, i have NEVER been confronted (knock wood!)... and if anyone asked, i was shooting the fabulous morning light beaming through the window...
This is terrific! I love the light that you were shooting because we all know you most definitely were NOT aiming your camera at these people! Haha! Fav!
Wow, this is an ordinary breakfast crew yeah? It's amazing how you made this plain scene such a perfect representation of being American. Seriously, the angle is awesome. It seems you'll be monopolizing my fav album.
Listening to the song while I type this. Great song :) haven't heard it in ages. Lovely light and an interesting scene very reminiscent of today's life.

Regarding Supertramp ... if you ever get the chance to see Roger Hodgson at Casino Rama ... GO!
