the barn by northy

the barn

with apologies to Jeff (@jsw0109)...

we did some geocaching while we were at the cottage and one of the caches was across from this barn - which i had never noticed before as it is quite buried in foliage... it clearly caught fire at some point, and i would dearly love to know the explanation for the overturned table in the window...

i had hoped to present a larger shot of the structure (or what is left of it), but it just did not do justice to the detail of the thing... so you're getting just a piece of it :)
@jsw0109 - sorry Jeff... in this case, the full monty just did not do justice to what was there ;p

I like the angle that you shot from It makes it look taller than it is and gives good view to the weathered wood.

Oh, I HATE it when amazing-looking things just don't photograph well! It's like the Universe is taunting my camera and I :-(
Fab textures you've got here though!

Man I haven't Geocahed for ages!! Maybe I will on my upcoming trip!

I like the textures in this and the processing you have used. We just started geocaching a few weeks ago. It's quite fun, isn't it. My son loves it.

Great textures....oh...make a story....the overturned table is from someone breaking the glass to escape the flames....
July 20th, 2013
Wow, the tones and textures are wonderful here especially in b&w. Sorry to hear there was a fire. The table is a mystery, I do like Lynn @lynnb story though.

Don't you just love the treasures you find when geocaching?
It's so cool to find other 365er's who are cachers. :-)

Too bad that barn can't talk.
July 22nd, 2013
@pasadenarose I actually only learned about geocaching recently - from other 365-ers :)

Stunning capture! I love your use of b&w and the texture of the wood. Now you have me wondering about the overturned table as well. This is an excellent entry for the eotb challenge! Well done.
