well - just AFTER dawn as the definition of dawn says its the light before sunrise and this was taken shortly after sunrise... converted to black and white for the artist challenge - but frankly, i think i prefer the colour version (yes - i know - GASP)... so the colour version is posted here:
@joa yeah - i normally would have aimed for more contrast, but Kenna seems to be more muted in his use of tones and they tend to be murkier rather than contrasty... at least from the images i looked at (not that many, i confess)... plus i lurved the colour tones and didn't want to take too much away from them, even when converting to black and white... (sometimes i wonder if i overthink these things ;p)
@northy Heh, overthinking is a common thing in these circles, I think. :D But yes, the tones are lovely - and I guess staying true to the challenge is worthy in itself. :) I do have to try to see if I can get a shot in this challenge as well (it's not too late yet, is it?) because Kenna's style really speaks to me. Some of my winter shots even got comments saying I had captured it back then. (So where's that snow when I need it... Hah! Thank goodness it's not here!)
Fabulous. I think the colour seems to add a little more depth or something around whatever that wooden looking thing is... not sure exactly... but I like the colour only marginally better... the shot as a whole and the composition etc is just gorgeous.
