Neil's rock monuments by novab

Neil's rock monuments

Here is a shot of the rock monuments which line a portion of the Bedford basin. This waterfront area had been in filled to provide additional land for expansion, which will include business, shopping, waling trails, marina, etc .

I met the creator, Neil on Oct 4th of this year, he has been working on these sculptures for five years now.

Here is a shot of him working away. http://365project.org/novab/365/2015-10-05
These are so spectacular! I have little doubt that Neil knows of the work of Andy Goldworthy https://www.google.ca/search?hl=en&site=imghp&tbm=isch&source=hp&biw=1366&bih=643&q=andy+goldsworthy&oq=Andy+&gs_l=img.1.7.0l10.1707.2823.0.6549.5.4.0.1.1.0.124.421.2j2.4.0....0...1ac.1.64.img..0.5.420.V5Y4Tf6Dqmg and I'm delighted this pushed me to look again at his images! What a joy to have such artists in our midst! It's spectacular that you are recording his work! (OK...Spectacular Squared, but Worthy!)

How interesting. They look like there's an easter influence...padoga/temple. Also great balance.

Oh Corrections! I meant Eastern influence. And yes, I'd forgotten about Andy Goldworthy's fabulous and colourful constructions.

Thanks for liking my shot of Neil's work. The monument on the right is about 7 ft tall and he uses only the rocks to hold them together (nothing else) But, before he makes his way down to the waterfront, he stops at the local "Tim Horton's" to get a cup of coffee. He always adds his empty coffee cup to the moment in some way, that is why I choose a b&w shot, as I did not want to see the red cup. :)
