Male American Wigeon by novab

Male American Wigeon

This is a first for me, as I've not seen this breed of duck before, (maybe because I've never looked). But this fellow seemed content to be swimming with the many male & female mallards.
It's too bad that you can't see his iridescent green eye shadow in this shot.

Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!
Cute close up capture.

Beautiful Nova. Love the glint in the eye and how beautiful you captured the structure of the feathers. This Nordamerican bird sometimes even get so much lost, that it ends up in Western Europe. Maybe also this one did not use its navigation device, it should be far more south by this time. But maybe he is in love with a mallard girl, who knows. Fav.

So much to love here! Such a beautiful variety of colors in the water along with that great reflection. Love your sharp focus capturing every detail of the feathers, too. Did you see this on black? Wow, this is a FAV for me!

Love the detail on this beautiful bird, and I think I can see a bit of the iridescent green. Great light on the water, too. Fav for me.

fantastic details you have captured, kiddo. i've seen one around here a few years ago, along with a wood duck, trying to fight off seagulls when people threw bread crumbs on the pond. of course i didn't know what breed it was so i just called it weird-looking duck. :-) aces!
