Kookaburra by onewing

Kookaburra

For the next few days I will be posting photos of some of the birds who visit our garden.

Regular visitors are a pair of kookaburras. This lady is called Chatterbox because she is always very chatty when she turns up. Her 'partner' is called Tony and he is the son of a pair of kookaburras we had visiting for years called Onewing and Squawk, Some may remember photos I have taken in the past of them. Sadly Onewing and Squawk have gone to that great aviary in the sky now but the family live on.

Love this shot! Her pose is perfect

@johnfalconer Tony's name developed along the way. He started off as the teenager when he used to come here with his parents Onewing and Squawk. Then he got too big to be a teenager so it got shortened to Tina. Then he turned up with a girlfriend so he became Tony. Ha ha

@pusspup We still have quite a few in our area but this pair and their baby are the only ones who venture in our garden because it belongs to them. ha ha Very territorial with other kookaburras.
